UNN Analytics
The UN [Nutrition] Network (UNN) is renowned for its suite of analytical tools that covers the multi-sectoral nutrition landscape at both the national and sub-national level. Beyond the colourful encaptivating visuals they generate, the tools are a means to an end, catalysing inclusive dialogue and collective action on nutrition. They serve as effective conversation starters and door openers, not only among technical specialists but also among policy-makers and executive powers. As such, they help to establish common ground among diverse, sometimes competing, nutrition actors and guide decision-making at the country level.
They also enable countries to assess nutrition capacity gaps, craft data-driven advocacy messages, develop context-specific policies and plans, strengthen nutrition information systems and better coordinate nutrition actions across sectors. In addition, the tools are being used as accountability mechanisms that are helping to track the implementation status of national nutrition plans. Utilized by a growing number of stakeholders, including SUN Focal Points and other government officials working in nutrition coordination platforms, UNN analytics also provide an entry point for building capacity in data management and multi-sectoral coordination− both crucial for scaling up nutrition action in support of broader sustainable development.
